total ban in Australian fruit and vegetable imports by Vietnam

In 2003 Vietnam sought permission to sell Lychees and Dragon fruit in Australia. Since thn both parties have not made a decision so now Vietnam has banned all fruit and veg entering their country from Australia. Joe Hockey was just on tv boasting how the LNP has made 600 jobs a day last year. This lack of a decision may have a flow on affect that will completely undo all that hard work

Australia is good at that - exporting their fruit/vege to other countries but dillying around about giving permission to import same for those countries.

The jobs are being lost right now. Vietnam has banned all Australian fruit and veg. It doesn't fly to Vietnam by itself.

This is serious issue we are losing more the Vietnam is. Not only are the jobs being affected the local market is being depressed by a glut. Apparently two table grape producers have already closed down completely

I've been trying to find the story regarding the topic.  Nothing mentioned about Lychees, Dragonfruit or vegetables.

Read something about  Vietnam stopping imports of fruit and veges due to fruit fly.  82% of their imports are table grapes.  Can't find reference to Joe Hockey within that story or lychees dragonfruit.
