And we can only hope that the LNP will change their minds, will listen to reason and implement the NBN.

and for those who do not understand how much difference it would make, and are unsure about the bits and bytes, and the difference between FTTP and FTTN

If just one of the links is limited to 1Mbps it would not help if yo had a 1 Terabit bit per second Internet connection, you would have your data served up ai 1Mbps.
The route was just a graphic illustration of the signal paths over the internet
Where are you accessing that has such slow links?
And why the need to do so many hops around Melbourne?
Looks like a new ISP would help.

I have always only used Internet that was adequate for my needs. and even though I am in the computer industry FTTN more than satisfies my needs and FTTN by far surpassed the needs of an average Internet user
Why should everyone in the country be limited to what your needs are?

@poddster wrote:Its not that it is slow it is that if i watch utube my data allocation runs out and I get cut back to dialup speed.
The speed is fine even for HD video. 🙂
Why waste your time with utube. It's not even a proper site.
I don't believe any person seriously working in IT would even consider utube as being worthy of being in the NBN conversation.
That's the same as the pornography accusation, remember the bit about the NBN is only good for priates and porn watchers?
Ask people that have been stuck on FTTN what they think of it after a while. Do you ever try uploading videos? Doesn't look like it. Would you want to wait 10 hours for a 10 minute video to upload?
If you're in IT you're in the wrong business.

The dubious claims business is closer to the mark.

I think that you will find that it was Am3 who brought up the issue of You Tube, Podds was just replying that he didn't use it.

Excuse me but Podds is the only person who talks about utube.
Please point out where I mentioned "You Tube".
Sorry, it seems another of the anti brigade don't know the difference between the utube and youtube.
That ought to be proof enough that they're not in the industry. Old has beens that think they know what's best for the future.

my apologies
same difference though, it wasn't Podds that introduced the topic,
@and LOL @ has been....
even if it were true, (which it's not) it is better to be a has been than a never was, eh?

oh, and I'm not part of the anti brigade - I don't care, the internet that I have now suits me just fine.
I occasionally ruminate briefly as to whether we can afford it NOW. But I'm happy to leave that decision up to the number crunchers.
