we are 28th in the world in internet speed :(

And we can only hope that the LNP will change their minds, will listen to reason and implement the NBN.

.......these speed tests are done on a 25/5 connection today via wifi, if you're interested.

Comparable to a FTTN connection 🙂

Now try the same servers using a faster local connection.

That would be a better test 🙂

No, not comparable to a FTTN connection at all.

Re: we are 28th in the world in internet speed :(

I don't think anyone could convinve me/others in my area or other people living with similar services (or lack of) that we don't need a new NBN service.

NBN - 120GB (50 peak/70 off Peak), landline via NBN (using existing telephone)  $45.44(excl GST) per month

Previous plan: ADSL 20GB & landline $110 per month (incl GST). (Landline was $57, telstra resale customers)

I guess i mean to say it isn't hooked up yet. there will be a price to pay i'm sure, especially as telstra will likely gain a monopoly by stealth (and not so stealthy free kicks) and ruin what was a good idea.
