One thing that a lot of posters on here are guilty of, is using effect instead of affect..

I think you will find that H can be pronounced with or without a Hhhhh sound.
Traditionally, it was not pronounced with a hhhhh at the beginning, and has only developed over time. Words like hospital and herb were traditionally pronounced "os-pi-tal" and "erb".

Either way is correct, traditionally speaking, dropping the "hhh" is correct, but as language is something that changes over time, using the "hhh" for H is also correct.
