Gun laws are a joke really. The responsible gun owners handed in their guns (or got registered) and the criminals hung onto them. The nutters who use these guns are the ones that didn't hand them in.
With the licensing came requirements of how to keep guns = under lock. That makes it less likely of guns being stolen. If anybody has unlicensed gun, it can be confiscated. And they are. Of-course, it will never be perfect and guns along with drugs are going to be smuggled in, but generally it is more difficult to get a weapon, when there are restriction and whn there is less of wapons in the country. Real professional criminal usually only shoot each other.

There is a Freedom shop about 3ks from my house, think there is quite a few of them about. The notion that freedom has anything to do with carrying weapons is ridiculous. Freedom from poverty, freedom to access public health - freedom not to be shot by the coppers because your black - focus on those three things and the US might have a better chance of surviving.

they don't need to steal licenced guns there are plenty on the black market. Pump actions etc were never going to be registered guns. If you were that way inclined you could get a gun pretty easily.
heres a little story how our gun laws don't work. My hubby has been a gun owner since a teenager. Last april the police paid me a visit asking for hubby I told them he wasn't due home for a month. When he got home he rang the cops and they told him his gun licence had expired (we didn't know), because it had been expired for over a month he had to go through the whole rego process again. We go to the cop shop say we have guns and expired licence we ask if they want us to bring the guns in to hold while the process is happening and blow me down his reply was this "we don't worry about people like you" now this policeman did not know us nor know anything about us. so for months we had guns with no licence.
We know people that haven't even had a safe keeping gun inspection, How long have we had the guns laws now?

The only way to even try to maintain freedom is to not let them take away your firearms. How many free countries disallow its citizens to own firearms.
It's easy to say "I'm not gonna let them take away my guns" But when faced with only two choices both of them bad, I choose to let it happen and am now alive and posting about it. The only other choice would have been a small blurb on the local news where the brave Franklin county sheriffs gave their side of it and with no one living to dispute their lies. I mostly just collected them and had over 10 thousand dollars invested in just the guns. but they took everything including the guns and my home.
When they kicked down my bebroom door and gang rushed me, dragging me out and stomping on me not much i could do. In coutr they painted me as just this horrable person with victims, It blew my mind, I have victims? felt like i was a victim, not having victims. Maybe I made the wrong choice
