so the man from katter's party doesn't want his children taught by gays.
should anyone as a parent care if their child is taught by a gay or lesbian teacher. this is of course presuming that no teacher gay straight or otherwise should be talking to students about their private lives and that types of relationships are not mentioned in a classroom except by any teacher as part of social education.
how a student or parent would even necessarily know a teacher is gay is debatable. i can't see how the private life of a teacher would effect a child in any way.

I think you are right, the only consideration for a teacher should be their teaching ability, good character etc......
it irks me no end to hear anyone saying "this is J, he /she is gay"
we don't introduce hetero's as "hi, this is J, he/she is heterosexual" do we?

Was it The Project they were interviewing Mr Katter on?
I had a snippet of it on the news this morning. I like the way he said to the guy "you are taking me out of the area of my concern".
I resolved to use that line wherever possible 😄

I think that they feel that way because they are concerned the lifestyle will be normalised and rub off on their child. However that could be said of any lifestyle contrary to those beliefs. Really if you don't want people who live lives contrary to the christian faith teaching your kids, send them to a christian school.
Just as I am sure many Atheists and those of other faiths wouldn't send their kids to a Christian school as its contrary to their core beliefs. Its easily rectified and there is no need to openly or publicly make stupid comments to create drama and cause friction.
