Chinese seller agreed to a refund but is now ignoring me after protection lapses

Hi Guys,

Is this a common problem?  I wasn't even aware there was a time limit to eBay protection until this seller started ignoring me and I found out I could no longer lodge a dispute as the time frame had lapsed.

They were all positive and upbeat and supportive of the return for refund as I hadn't even opened the package and they had a refund policy on their listing of 7 days no questions asked.  But now that I've started chasing them up to see whether the goods have arrived, they are ignoring me.

I'm not sure I can name and shame the seller and certainly can't even leave feedback anymore as it appears this has a time limit too.

The things you learn hey!!  Never knew all these time limits existed until now...

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Michael

I'm sorry you had to find out the hard way, but look upon it as a learning experience, and never allow a Chinese seller to string you along past the 45-day Paypal cut-off period for lodging INR claims.

Quite often the item may take longer than 45 days to arrive, but in such cases you should lodge a claim at the 44-day mark and let the seller know that you won't be escalating it to a claim for another 19 days to allow the maximum time possible for your item to turn up.

Bottom line is that most of them have to be made to refund your money by Paypal so always make a note under the item details in your Purchase History in My Ebay so that you know exactly what day it is you need to lodge a claim if necessary.
