Choose and Change (New Game)

Let's try this new game... 🙂

You have a word and have to write a sentence with an antonym of this word (it must not be a perfect antonym/opposite). The sentence must contain at least three other words (not including articles, pronouns etc.)

The next poster then chooses a word from the sentence of the previous poster (not the antonym, any other word) and builds a new sentence with the antonym of the word he or she has chosen.

For example:

START - She finished her delicious meal in no time.

The antonym of "start" is "finish/finished", so the next poster has to choose between "delicious", "meal" and "time" (the antonym can't be used) and has to write a sentence with the antonym of the chosen word and with at least three other nouns.

MIDDLE - He was standing far too close to the edge of the cliff, and one careless step would send him lurching over and falling, dashed upon the rocks.

STANDING - She was sick and tired of being on her feet all day, and found it much more pleasurable to be reclining on her very comfortable (and very expensive) lounge.

FEET - While sleepwalking, he hit his head against the closed door of his bedroom and quickly woke up in pain.

CLOSED - By the time he made it down to the shops they were no longer open

LONGER - He always had trouble buying shoes, as his left foot was one size shorter than his right.

SHOES - He stood menacingly in the doorway, slowly drawing off his gloves and fixing his eyes upon the miscreant who had thought his hunting lodge was empty and who was caught red-handed with his arms full of the paintings that had been hanging upon the walls of the dining room.

EMPTY - He had been eagerly anticipating his visit to the all-you-can-eat buffet at the local club, but had eaten way too much, and now his stomach was painfully full, and he completely regretted gorging on the wonderful variety of dishes.

VARIETY - He looked without interest at the holiday packages available through the travel agent, and muttered “These bore me with their sameness; have you nothing more exotic or interesting?”

MUTTERED - He was elated that his team had unexpectedly won against the reigning premiers, and shouted his excitement as loudly as he could.

TEAM - Gerriot Campaspe refused all offers of assistance, his nose elevated and quivering with distaste for the rest of the human race, and set out on his solo journey to the model village on the lip of a remote volcano.
