SATISFACTORY - “Well, that certainly seems like a satisfactory result!” pronounced Sue with a smile, as Grace made arrangements to pick up the new dog tomorrow when she could arrange to work from home again and ensure that the new denizen would settle in well and that Rufus felt comfortable with the change.

YELLING - Grace was on her walk with Rufus on this lovely spring day when she suddenly heard lots of yelling in the distance. What what was happening?

GALLIVANT - Grace recognised Lydia Chalmers’ voice scolding her husband with “Don’t lie to me! I know you’re giving that woman the eye and planning to gallivant off to the Bahamas with her, you quick-zip Casanova!” - and as Grace rounded the corner behind she could stop herself, she could clearly see Lydia bombarding Hugh Chalmers with weeds and old sheets of newspaper.

TRYING - I was trying not to get too sad that the story of Grace and Rufus might have reached an end 😞

GIDDY - Grace brought Rufus to a stop so that he wouldn’t become agitated by the domestic crise de nerfs taking place, and wondered what to do; should she try to calm down Lydia or should she back away and call the couple later to see if they needed a friend to talk to? - but right now she was also conscious that she had to collect the new dog within the next 40 minutes.
(I know we’re all enjoying the Rufus storyline!)

YOUNG - Grace was in such a rushed state as it was nearly time for her to pick the dog up, that she nearly hit the young girl whilst reversing out of her driveway. Lucky that the little girl stopped in time 🙂

GATE - While she put a hand to her cheek, horrified at the near miss, Grace also bethought herself of the gate – had she closed it properly? - and pulled herself out of the driver’s seat and hurriedly checked, but it was all right; Rufus was sitting behind the locked gate with a panting smile of “Get me my new friend! Get me my new friend!”

EXCITED - Grace was extremely excited to be picking up her new dog - a lovely friend for Rufus - and hoped that the little pup would also be happy to see her but .... what would she name him?

DEEP - Grace pulled up, went inside to the shelter, and greeted Sue who had the adorable Jack Russell cross ready, with a delighted gleam deep in his eyes as he was petted and given a treat; then, as Grace was completing the paperwork, Sue asked her “Have you decided on a name? We’ve only had him for a week, so he hasn’t yet been given one…” and Grace replied, “Bailey - I think that will suit him.”

PUTTING - Sue nodded and said to Grace that she thought Bailey was a great name to choose. Putting him in the car she couldn`t wait to get home to Rufus so they could meet each other and hopefully play together without fighting.
