DOUBT - She had no doubt that Edward would be at the park again, as that was the only way she had to contact him since they hadn't exchanged numbers (which was another thing she admired about him - he wasn't pushy at all).

Grace could remember giving Roxanne dating advice when she was 17… and now she was a happily married woman in her twenties who was more au fait than her mum with how the world of dating had changed - but she could also ask her younger daughter Lissa for advice - but wasn’t she counting her chickens before they’d hatched…?

DENYING - There was no denying the fact that Grace found Edward attractive in many ways, but she was wary of dating in the modern world, and concerned that she could be hurt as she had been in the past.

GANGRENE - She’d married young, and her marriage had seemed happy - with two beautiful daughters born to them - until her husband had died on a corporate trust-building exercise in the Grampians… only the business revealed there was no such corporate exercise, and Grace’s husband turned out to have been there booked in a nearby hotel with another woman, when he fell from quite a height in the National Park, broken several bones and developed gangrene while the woman just left, anxious to save herself from the publicity.

ROUGH - That had been a rough time, but it was several years in the past, so Grace thought that maybe it was worth giving Edwad a chance, as he did seem to be caring and thoughtful, but it was early days and she would take it slowly.
