SUMMER - During summer Grace decided she would get the house painted outside. Heading down to Bunnings in the afternoon the paint section was so busy that she thought lots of people had the same idea! lol

RANDOM - While she was waiting in the queue at the paint section, a random thought popped into Grace's head - why was every second person ordering the same colour paint?

MURDEROUS - Grace discussed her paint needs with the expert there, and it turned out that the paint she wanted would be a special order; no problem, she thought, just as she spotted a glaring face stretched into a scowl of murderous rage - but when she swung her head around in shock, there was no one there but for an older couple and a woman with messy blonde hair holding on to two rambunctious boys.

STEADIED - Before placing the special order for the paint, Grace steadied her emotions as she had been badly shaken by the face she had seen - the only explanation for it was her own imagination, although where that image had come from wasn't at all clear.

DRIED - Picking off the dried paint surrounding the door frames Grace pricked her finger with a splinter that hurt badly. That will teach me not to do that again she thought. Rufus and Bailey with Grace wishes everyone a lovely Christmas Day!

DRAWN - Among the Christmas cards she’d received, Grace spotted a very cute hand-drawn one from a friend who was very artistic, depicting Rufus and Bailey looking at a fallen Christmas tree with the caption “Rufus and Bailey usually used trees for other purposes, but this time they’d been fighting over who would be sitting on top as the Christmas Dogfairy”.

NEVER - The card made Grace chuckle, and she suddenly thought she had never realised how lucky she was to have so many kind and talented friends to cheer her up and support her whenever life wasn't going quite as well as she would have wished.

RUM - This year, Grace was making a Caribbean Christmas cake heavily imbued with rum rather than brandy; the house was redolent with the mingled aromas of dried fruit and heady rum, which Grace could almost imagine was sending the dogs into a jolly haze of intoxication as they went mad with spinning around and dashing from one side of the kitchen to the other.

MAGIC - All of the heady aromas, and the crazy behaviour of the dogs improved Grace's mood no end, and she began to believe that the magic of Christmas had arrived early.

CAKE - Today after taking Rufus and Bailey on their walk Grace decided to bake a fruit cake to keep the spirit of Christmas going.
