TENNIS - I'll definitely start watching the tennis, but unfortunately won't be able to stay awake for the end of the match.

SADLY - Grace’s friend “Countess” checked the TV listings and thought that an episode of Vera looked interesting, even though it was a repeat; sadly she had no little Rufus or Bailey herself, but a cheeky cat who would watch the episode with them.

[I thought this would be a graceful way to add to the story!]

YELLOW - Countess was wondering why so many shows and series are repeated all the time. Rufus & Bailey weren`t here with her and that cheeky cat was licking her yellow dress, she wasn`t happy at all!

WOEFUL - Today the temperature was climbing upwards towards 41℃, and while Grace was chatting online with her friends in a forum, a duet of woeful doggie howls arose as Rufus and Bailey expressed their discomfort – not of the temperature per se (the a/c was on), but perhaps the air pressure?

LAPPED - Grace apologised to her friends and briefly exited the chat, and went over to comfort the dogs, who both enthusiastically lapped up the attention, much like Countess's mischievous cat lapped up his bowl of water on a hot day.

GAME - Of course, Rufus and Bailey could inexplicably lose interest in a game that would usually engage their attention for hours, and in fact Grace could remember throwing a rubber ball to Rufus for well over a hour last year (before Bailey had joined the household), and oh! how her throwing arm had suffered for it the next day!

ECHIDNA - Grace spotted movement near her back fence, and saw an echidna nosing around looking for a feed of ants, so she immediately called both dogs to her and took them inside before they noticed what they would probably consider to be a new plaything (albeit a rather spiky one).

ACTIVE - After a while, with the dogs active and playful in the rumpus room, Grace was folding away the smalls she had washed that morning, but she noticed that one of her bras was missing; it wasn’t left in the machine, it wasn’t among the bedclothes, it wasn’t on the floor, it wasn’t in the laundry basket… but come to think of it, Rufus had used to hide washed items of underwear… so could he be at it again?
