Hi Joz and Tunesters

Swing or jazz swing is really the sound of WW2...the big bands such as Glenn Miller, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Artie Shaw etc, so late 30's to late 40's when your Miles Davis types came along and evolved jazz into Bebop etc in the 50's. The old blues artists came before swing but they influenced your Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, B.B. King types who of course influenced the Stones etc.

My late dad used to be a champion jitterbugger in his day and during the war years he would compete for money, in competitions in Hyde Park, Sydney so I guess I have an appreciation of music from those eras and much earlier.
