My Missy still hasn't got a job. She is sending out her resume but she is not really wanting a job. Harsh fact but true.
She wants money but isn't keen to work. X-(
She is making herself unemployable. All the things I don't like - piercings (lips, tongue) ears are OK, tattoos - yuk (apologies if you have them), body image (will never be a model). Even though employers shouldn't discriminate, I know myself that if I was an employer that I wouldn't hire her. ๐
She just lies in her room watching videos or DVD's on her computer or is on Facebook etc.
Hard statements but true ones. She finds excuses to object to various jobs. As far as going to various Child Care Centres and handing in her resume ~ pfft.
We can't get her to get up and go. Motivation has already got up and gone.
Oh well, I hope you have a lovely weekend and that you have a nice quiet time when you go back to work.

Im sorry to hear about your missy .... she sounds like a lot of the kids these days ... sad but true ....
I dont understand how they dont have any money ...and yet find enough to get tattoos and piercings .... which I gotta say are not cheap ... and to be honest a lot of places wont hire you if you have an abundance of either ... I know some of the girls I work with have the tattoos and they have to cover them up ... and all barring 2 piercings in the ears are not allowed either ...
having said that I dont see how having either makes you a good or bad carer or worker .... I worked with a girl years ago who had multiple tattoos and piercings and was fabulous with the kids and really good at her job ....sadly I doubt she would get a job in childcare now .... ๐
and no I dont have tattoos, I only have two little dots - I had to have them when I had breast cancer in 2010 ....they use them to line up the grid when they give you radiation therapy ... which is mandatory with the diagnosis .... Im happy to say its 3yrs ago today since diagnosis and all good .... worked through the whole process so I was lucky โฅ not something I have told many people but thought I would share with you as nobody else comes in here anyway and Im not touchy about it anymore :-x

Gee, I'm glad you managed to come through your illness as well as you have. I think I would be loud and proud about those 2 dots. Does this mean you are in remission or do you still have ongoing but not frequent treatment?
Off to Thailand again? My son was recently in Thailand and Vietnam.
It was a real shame because when he went on his first OS holiday he never signed up for a Frequent Flyer program and since then he has been to Thailand about 5 times using Thai Airways ever time. Even the flight from Bangkok to Hanoi was Thai from memory. He would have had enough points probably for a free trip (Economy Class).

Would you believe that on our next trip we are going Business Class, all done with points except we had to buy MrBraff 10,000 points at a cost of $400 plus airport taxes for us both.
We have our Credit Card attached to Singapore Airlines, plus the trips we have done in the past was all leading to us being able to go Business Class

MrBraff got upgraded once when he was in the US 100 ears ago and it was only for a short flight but he has always said that he wants to experience the real thing on a long haul flight. I told him if and when we do it I will only do it on an A380. We have travelled on the A380 many times but only in pleb class which is still darn good anyway.
Missy is talking about getting another tattoo. Down the inside of her forearm. I am sure she tells me these things to get me upset and it sure does work.
I reminded her that she is trying to get a job and she just throws up the 'they are not allowed to discriminate' etc. X-(
Gee, I am not looking forward to her wedding day and trying to see her as a 'pretty bride'.
There is no wedding on the horizon but it is still something I think about.
Anyway, have a wonderful time leading up to your holidays.
In 2 weeks time I will be in Tamworth staying with a friend and attending the big Music Festival again and also seeing Damo

yes going business class again ,,,,once you go you cant go back ... its so awesome.... and yes we have a thai frequent flyer account .... and when you go business class you get extra points ... so I reckon eventually we will have enough for a free business class ticket ... ๐
tell missy its not a matter of discrimination ... its a matter of her being willing to get a job and presenting herself in the best light ... she cant cry discrimination if she is not putting her best appearance forward when going for a job ....
for the first 5 years I have to go back to my oncologist (in September) for a checkup .... and I have a mammogram in march every year to ensure I dont have a re-occurrence but no other treatment .. I was originally put on HRT but that caused all manner of side-effects for me .... my hair fell out, I broke out in psoriasis all over my body, my head was wet with sweat all the time and I was like a furnace inside .... beaming off heat to anyone who came near me .... LOL .... wasnt a nice experience ... ๐ my ocologist told me to stop immediately as the benefits of taking it versus the side-effects .... meant I was better off without it ... but thats it .... and hopefully once the five years are up I am actually contemplating getting a survival tattoo ....maybe on my foot or ankle ... just the pink ribbon breast cancer symbol ....but thats a ways off at the moment ...and who says I will actually go through with it when the time comes :^O

It's very exciting with your holiday date drawing so close.
I can understand you not wanting to go back to economy after being in Business Class.
Unfortunately, this will be our one and only Business Class Trip.
Just as well I like the Singapore Airlines Economy Class. :^O
I think the tattoo that you are planning sounds very nice and under the circumstances I would get one of those too.
The same as the Olympic ones, I don't mind seeing the Olympic rings with the year underneath them. Those athletes have worked very hard to earn that tattoo.
Missy went and got that one that I mentioned to you. It looks awful. X-(

hmmm it makes me cross .... I have a cousin ... who has a trade (qualified boilermaker) ... and refuses to work .... is on the dole ...and yet has enough money to get tattoos all over his body ... and they are gross looking ones also ... ewwww .... and has enough money to buy all the modern gadgets ... and yet complains that the government wont fix his teeth ... ๐ฎ
I saw on the tv last nite they want to raise the dole by $25 a week .... **shakes head** .... it will make it even easier for those on the dole to not work ....
I think your missy is probably of that mindset .... I hope not .... cos Im sure she has a lot to offer to the working community ... I just think its wayyyyy too easy to not work due to the dole and the centrelink mob dont follow up on those who actually could work .... especially like my cousin ... cos they are calling out for boilermakers all the time ... but he comes up with some excuse over and over .... maybe your missy thinks if she has the tattoos then no one will hire her and that means she doesnt have to try anymore ... ๐ lets hope she finds something she really likes and gets a job doing it ... she can still get more tattoos if she chooses .... except she will be earning them herself โฅ

well had most of the week off work ... did work 3.5hrs yesterday as one centre needed someone to close with the proper documents (which I have obviously) ... so did that and have taken it easy this week .... minus tuesday when I had haircut, dentist clean and checkup and my car serviced .... ๐
but wasnt booked for next week until yesterday arvo ... when a little independent centre I work at rang me ... hoping I was free for the week ... luckily I was ... so working there ๐ the girl was sooo happy cos it was short notice for me .... LOL ..... so not working on the friday ... as I have to make sure everything is tickety boo .... cos on saturday .....
I GO ON MY HOLIDAY .... WOOHOOO !!!
and very exciting it is too ..... getting oh so close ...

OMG! OMG! OMG! I am in Tamworth, just about to go to Damien's concert :-x:-x:-x
My friend and I have already seen Damo twice already up here. They have a big tent/marquis set up with all sorts of booths inside. There are a couple of radio stations broadcasting from inside, plus there is an area for entertainers to perform. Yesterday we heard that Damo was going to be interviewed at 11.30 by one of the stations in there so we went there after seeing another show and watched the interview, had a chat and a :-x ๐
Today we went to the Markets and we were walking though the Toyota Fanzone centre and I pricked up my ears.....:-D:-x and Damien was doing a mini concert. Just 2 songs, but hey! I get excited when I hear him on a 10 second Estee Lauder commercial.
We will be leaving in about half an hour for the concert
Happy Braffy at the moment. :^O.
It is such a great atmosphere up here. Anyhow, I will try and get back in before you leave but if I don't, then have a fantastic time away. :-x
