OMG I just realised that half of my first post tonight is missing.
He found out during the course that he would have to sit a 4 1/2 hour exam the day after he got bqck from OS. He reminded the TAFE teacher that he was going OS and he said that there was no way he would be able to stucy for it. He said there was no way he was taking written material on making and using explosives onto a plane or to a Muslim country. The teacher agreed and said that they would set a different exam for him to do this week.
He has now found a place to live. It is near Murdoch University. I don't know if that is near you or not. He said it is nearish to the airport. He is in a share house that looks really nice. He plans on being a fly in fly out worker.
He will take off for Perth at the end of the week or beginning of next week. It is all happening so fast.
You don't have any contacts in the mining industry do you?
In the space of a month I will have had my 2 sons moving out of home ane to 2 different States.
There has been good news for my Missy. She has finally landed a job. It is one that really suits her. She started last Monday. She also has a boyfriend now which she is excited about. The downside is that her car has been playing up..Last week it cost us over $960. I say us, because she has been out of work for so long and has no money. She has quite a debt to pay back. In July, besides registration etc it cost us $754 Mtr Braff went crook at them because the car ws fixed last week and the warning light came on again on last night.. It was repaired 'again' today and they didn't charge this time.
I am still mad keen on Damo. I went and saw a concert where he was previewing his new album which comes out on 1st November. He will be in Perth for the release date. on 31/10 and 1/11 he will be playing at the Ellington Jazz Club, on 2/11 he is at The Boulevarde Tavern Joondalup and on 3/11 he is at Mandurah.
Do yourself a favour, Try and go and see him. He is so lovely and his new (and old) songs are terrific. The prices are very reasonable - kept low on purpose. Around $35

congratulations to both your boys on their jobs/achievements ... a lot to be proud of there ... and goodness different sides of australia .... now that will be a lot to take in ... although with skype and face to face (on ipad) you will have no problems seeing and keeping in touch with them both ...
Im glad your daughter has finally found a job she likes.... lets hope the money comes in quickly so she can repay you for all the costs incurred on her car ... ๐
my nephew works on the mines .... but not in the mines ... he did 5 yrs at uni and is a sports clinician (I think thats the name of it) ... he works out exercises for the mine workers so they dont get injuries ... and if they do get them he works out a plan to help them improve after their injuries ... he is also a FIFO worker ....
also my sisters niece ( on hubbys side) works on the dynamite trucks ... has been driving them for years ... and a lady I worked with in childcare also drives trucks up there .... its a popular job .... and lots of people applying for work ... hope your son has some luck with his application ...
I dont live anywhere near murdoch ... its heaps away from me .. LOL ...
as to damo ... well all the venues are quite a way from me ... and to be honest I rarely go out .... we do go to john farnham if he comes over this way .... but thats about all ... and really I have to save my money for my holidays LOL .... ๐
still working flat out .... there is such a dearth of qualified workers in the industry ... I could work at 3 different centres if I was split in three ๐
yep my missy is still going full on with derby ... got a match next weekend ... against the team they beat in the recent carnival between all the roller derby teams in the west ...
their number one team came second and her team came third ... so a good outcome for them both ... plus now we have a mens team over here ... so she goes to training sessions and scrimmages (mini games) with them to help them get their skills up ...

Well #2 son drove off today heading west. I shed a tear or two after he left with his car loaded up, but still legal.
I lost both sons in less than a month. 
I will lose #1 daughter when she takes off around Australia for about 2 years at the start of January. I will only have Missy left. Now because she has a boyfirend she is rarely home.
It seems quite surreal.
I don'y know why my son chose South Fremantle area. He told me he was wanting somewhere north oh Perth and instead he has gone south.
How hard/easy is it for him to get to the airport from where he is at Hamilton Hill? Is there a train to the airport?
I don't do Skype or Face to Face (no iPad) so it will just be text messages/phone calls/emails. Both boys are hoping to be home at Christmas although that will depend on what work situations they have.
My son doesn't care what job he gets, he just wants to get one. He has his HR licence, he has Emergency Response Training, plus the TAFE courses on Drilling and Explosives. The job that he left has a branch in Perth and he was told to contact them if a mining job didn't work out or eventuate. The company he used to work for makes a lot of the equipment that the mines use so he is familiat with a lot of the equipment.
I'm glad your daughter is still enjoying her derbys. I hope the competition is good and she can go one or two better in the games next week.
Getting ever so close to your holiday now. Do you have a countdown timer in place? We did and now we have one for our next one. I've also got one going for Damien's new album. Next Friday, so not long to wait for that one,

gosh I cant believe its been 2 weeks since I was last in here .... the time is flying by ๐ฎ
hamilton hill is not too hard to get to the airport from ... although there is no train to airport ... as the libs vetoed it at the last election grrrrr .... but the freeways/ highways all get there with a minimum of fuss ... and plenty of taxis or long term parking ... I think a lot of the FIFO (fly in fly outs) who work on the mines use this so they have a car ready and waiting for them when they get back to perth ... and Hamilton Hill is not really Fremantle ... quite a way away from each other ...
do they have facebook ... cos you could talk to them on there in the chat section ... alternately you could get an ipad ... I love mine ... its so awesome ... and so easy to use ... and if they had one it would put your mind at ease being able to see them and chat in real time .... ๐
you will soon have an empty nest at your house .... you will love the tidiness haha ... no more picking up after anyone .... and actually having food in the fridge after you shop ... that will be a bonus also ... ๐
missy had a replay of the carnival competition last saturday ... where her team came 3rd and the other team 4th .... was a great game ... some of the players in the other team had to be substituted as they had gone away on holidays or had to work ... but all in all a really close game .... but missys team was victorious ... she was very happy ....
was funny cos usually my mum comes with me ... but she went to a concert for the seekers with her friend .... so I asked my niece (17+) if she wanted to come for a look ... she plays basketball about 3 nites a week ( I used to do this when younger LOL ) ..... she enjoyed it but said it wasnt her thing LOL .... anyway we were waiting on missy to come over after the game to say bye .... so stood up .... my niece one side and missy in her skates on the other side of me ... I felt like a midget ... LOL ... as they are both taller than me ... and towered over me by about a head .....oh well never mind .... made me laugh though ...

had to go to optician on thursday ... as had floaties in my right eye for a couple of days ... and it was blurrey ..... he said that some of the liquid around the eye had leaked into the eye and it would take up to 2 months for it to get better ๐ ..... its very annoying having the black floaties just wander across the eye ....and the blurrey middle is a pain ... its also itchy (of course) ... and when in a dark room I get small flashes on the outside of the eye .... good news was that it wasnt the precursor to a detached retina .... which would mean surgery asap .... but he did say if it changed or a sort of shadow encroached down from the top so that my vision was limited to go to the doctor asap and get a referral to an opthamologist ... as it could be the detached retina .... but he said it should be ok as the eye was clear besides the leakage .... thank goodness ....
apparently its just something that happens as you get older ..... sheesh .... just have to add that to the long list of things that happen LOL
working flat out still .... at this other centre now until end of november ...as they still havent had any people looking to take the job .... mind you the kids are gorgeous ... and the parents lovely .... staff are getting better ... I think thats cos I dont hold back ... tell them what I think ... and confront them if I have a problem with them .... prior to me getting there and still now ... they dont confront the person about something .... but tell someone else who tells someone else ... a sort of chinese whispers thing .... so by the end its nothing like what was said ... and could have been fixed by a face to face talk .... but most are young and will have to learn this .... **sigh** .... but it is taxing ...
my baby furbaby turns 11 today ... cant believe it .... she doesnt seem that old ... and we still call her baby ... even though her name is tilly ... LOL .... other girl is 9 .... they are both asleep on the floor with the fan going as its pretty warm over here today ...
well better go to the shops ... have to get some chicken legs for dinner .... dont buy them any earlier than I want to use them as they seem to smell a bit after a day ... and I dont like that .... catch up soon ...

another week done and dusted ..... cant believe they are disappearing at a rate of knots .....ridiculous to be honest ....
working long hours still .... another 80hr fortnight ..... sheesh what happened to my 75hr fortnights ..... a distant memory .... would be nice to actually leave at the correct time on my roster ... instead of doing an extra hour or thereabouts .... even starting early due to too many children in the centre ....
and it will only get worse as we get closer to xmas ... they tend to stay so the parents can do what they need to do .... but pity about those workers taking care of their children ... when do we get to have time to do our stuff .... I havent been shopping properly on a thursday for over a month .... grab just the essentials and missy grabs other stuff on her day off (monday) .... cos saturday is jam packed with people and I have all the chores to do ... and cant be bothered going down on a sunday ... LOL ... thats my rest day ๐

a quick pop in to say hi ....
finish up at this centre this week .... off to a different company for all but 2 weeks in between beginning of december and 15th january .... so a long booking ... but totally different staff & kids .. ๐ฎ
mind you I bet I dont work as much overtime as this company has been asking of me ... and oh thats right not paying me properly .... apparently according to them ... they dont have to pay overtime until we work over an 8hr day ... (normal day 7.5hrs) ..., and then they only have to pay 2hrs of it at time and a half .... grrrrr
my understanding is if you are contracted to work a 75hr fortnight then anything over that should be overtime and paid at the correct rate .... grrrr makes me so cross ... all this time and not to be correctly reimbursed for my time ... told them ... I can refuse to stay ... as Im relief I can 'walk' when my shift ends .... leaving them in breach of the regulations ... so they need to be thinking about paying correctly ... or thats what I am thinking of doing ....
okay enough ranting .... ๐ ..... hope youre well and your boys are settled and missy is not being too much of a pain to you both ...

off to a new centre on monday .... have worked there before ... but will be there this time (all barring xmas week & new years week) until I go on my holiday ...
back to usual centre on the xmas/ny weeks ... although the owner of the centres has decided we are not opening on the friday 27th .... allowing the staff to have a 5 day break over xmas .... about time I reckon ... seeing as head office closes over xmas for 2 wks .... and the rest of us work ... ๐
off to the xmas party/awards night tonite .... hope its better than last year which was rubbish ... its at a nicer venue .... and its free (barring parking - which will probably cost a bomb) .... but we will see LOL

Grrr about the overtime, That doesn't sound right about payment or lack of especially since you are a casual.
I think your plan of attack sounds good. Let them know you will be leaving at your designated time.
My boys are going well although the one in WA has hurt his wrist and left themine site early to rest it up,.
He is leaving for Bali in a couple of days for 4 days in his down time. He will be coming home for Christmas.......flying this time..
We went and visited our son in Brisbane and he is really enjoying himself up there and has no plans to come back on a permanent basis. He too will be home for Christmas although I think 'home' will be the girlfriends place.
Missy is going well at her job and is a fully fledged Customer Service staffer now. She is still on 3 months probation but is no longer a trainee. She handles the calls herself.

I went and saw Damo on Friday night. A vey nice night it was too. 
I get to see him again next Saturday night too. That will be the last time probably until the middle of next year.
His new album 'Chapter Seven' is really good. All originals. (Some were co-writes).
Not long until Christmas now, and then 2014 and your holiday. Those countdowns are good aren't they?
I will try and come in here again before Christmas, but if I don't then have a lovely Christmas and a fantastic 2014.
I hope everything is ok with your eyes. I'll haveto go and get my eyes checked again. I'm in a Health Fund so I can get free glasses each year although I have to pay extra to get multifocal. I'll get sunglasses this time since I don't have a spare pair of prescription sunnies. The arm kept coming off my original pair. I had them replace the arm, we superglued it, everything possible but it kept happening so I have tossed them.
The spare pair are now the ones I use all the time.
