What's your favourite style of metal, band or songs?

I like the old metal bands: the 80's and 90's metal: Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal and Seattle Sound/ Grunge.

The Bard's song by Blind Guardian, is that Power Metal? It doesn't sound like metal to me, it sounds like medieval folklore from the 16th century.

It's nice, but I don't hear the metal part in it. :8}

It is Power Metal.. Maybe that song is not so much Power Metal but the rest of their stuff is..  I don't see the Metal part in a lot of the songs that others have posted, but I don't complain 😛

Pretty sure Aussie pub bands don't count as metal either.. 

There are no "hidden messages" in EMO music, it's designed to sell music to teenagers who cry when Mummy doesn't buy them the latest iPod.. Sorry, but As I Lay Dying are NOT metal, you can tell by their EMO-riffic name..

As this thread is not a "free for all" have a look at some of the other songs posted, they are way less metal than what I have posted.. 

If I am going to be criticised for posting songs that you don't think are Metal, then the same should go for oz_girl.. 

I think you all need to learn your sub-genres of Metal...

Takes alot more than that to upset me, and those 'messages' are up front and in your face (not yours of course 😉 ) Classic Rollins style.

Yes it is meant to be a fun thread, but the clue is in the name.. I just thought it was Metal songs we were posting, not Aussie pub anthems.. 

I wasn't getting militant, just pointing out some other songs on here that weren't metal, after the one song that I posted was apparently not considered metal enough.

Never mind that Blind Guardian are considered THE best Power Metal band in the world.

Personally...I was happy to see ANYONE else post regardless of the music. I'm always looking for new stuff and Oz is nice...so why not?

Someone started picking on me saying Black Betty by Ram Jam wasn't Rock Metal so I just thought I'd get picky too and see how others liked it! 😛 

I don't care what kind of Rock or Metal or Hard Rock gets posted here as long as it's classified as some sort of Rock.
