Can't create 2nd ID. Any suggestions please?

Have filled in reg. form with new id, new email, same password but page goes dark, stays put when I click 'Submit'. Don't know what is wrong.  Any advice appreciated.

Might be due to being Friday and it is maintenance time which causes a lot of glitches.

Try again in a few hours or tomorrow when they have finished playing with the site.

Not sure why I'd need to maintain balance?  I pay seller fees by automatic bank withdrawal.  Someone told me the card details requirement is a security factor for ebay.    Just had another take on this - perhaps it's wrong to guess that the credit card is the problem as the registration page only takes name/email addy/user name/password - the other stuff comes up when you register to sell.  Think I might be on the wrong track. BTW have tried again twice today. I might phone for advice next week if I get nowhere. Wonder if it's a coincidence that I couldn't email ebay either & a survey ppal asked me to take part in stalled & I got a message that there was a tech problem but that what I'd filled in would be saved ....

Just had a light bulb moment about this (possibly) - when I originally registered, no credit card details were given as I have never had one. Could this be why I'm getting nowhere now?  It's a requirement now to put one on, I believe. If that is the case, could I use Visa debit card?  Have been thinking about getting one for some time.  Thanks for any comment or advice.

Thanks to both of you, hope it works tomorrow.  Another similar glitch just a while ago when I tried to email customer support - the darkened page, then the freeze with nothing further to be achieved by staying on that page.
