How do I know when a policy violation has been cleared from my account?

I have recently requested to increase my selling limit (which is at 480 items a month) and after speaking to eBay support, found out that I am unable to due to a policy violation (item location).

Since this, all our products that were causing this violation were removed and eBay support have told me that the violation is still active and that it can take 1 to 2 months to clear, however another support chat told me only a couple of weeks. Not sure what to think.

Does anyone know how long it can take realistically? And is there anything I can do to speed up the process?

Thanks everyone

It sounds like you have received a strike for location misrepresentation.

As suggested, wait for it to lift and ensure your current listings don't violate.

When you say it was a policy violation for location, were you drop-shipping without revealing it on the listings ?

eBay CS reps often have no clue to a lot of the problems that members have and will sometimes give the member the answer they want to hear to get them off the phone.

Probably your best bet would be to wait a couple of weeks to see if the the violation has been lifted and if not get back onto CS and ask to speak to a supervisor as soon as you are able to.

Edit. G'day Dave.

My understanding is that policy strikes are on a 12 month rolling system. Also that a single strike would not normally result in restrictions.

Have you been restricted? If so, what were you told? If not, you will just have to wear the violation until it expires next year, and ensure that your listings are accurate.
