How do I set up an account with paypal?

I have tried to find the method of setting up Paypal without success.

Also my password was not accepted. Originally I tried a name with four digits to follow. A message told me that four digits should not all be the same, so I altered them. This was not accepted either.

This has become so difficult and I cannot find a phone number to discuss this problem with.

I don't know why this has to be so complicated, but I would appreciate some assistance and clarification.

Hi Anne,

You are not contacting ebay or paypal here.  These boards are run by volunteer members.

It is not a good idea to put private details on public boards....I will ask the Moderators to remove them.

As you seem to be having problems setting up a paypal account I will attempt to talk you through one method that is very easy.

Google paypal Australia and when you get the Home page you will see 2 buttons at the top of the page...Sign In and Join Now.

Hit Join Now and you will be taken to a page to enter your details.  I am unable to go any further because I already have a paypal account and it just gives me a page to alter my details.  From memory (a lot of years ago) it was very straight forward.

It is not a good idea to use the same email address and ID as your ebay details.  I do have the same email address because I have been using paypal since the year dot....long before I joined ebay and I only had the one email address at the time.  I do have a different ID though.

It is not a good idea to use your name in your password/ID or a series of the same numbers.....they are too easy for a hacker to guess.
