GST

PLEASE HELP.

Has anyone deregistered for GST.?  I'm new to ebay. I started a business store on the 2nd of August. I applied for an abn, business name, opened a business bank account and registered for GST.  Yesterday was my first appointment with my accountant and after discussing all things business, he recommended deregistering for GST, as I more than likely won't reach  $75000 in my first year of business. (I definately won't).  I tried to contact ebay last night to ask if there is a setting I need to change or will ebay automatically update this information when I am no longer registered for GST.  I couldn't find a phone number to ring or an email address. I did speak to someone on the chat who directed me to my business info and instructed me to deleted my ABN.  When I explained I did not want to delete my ABN and needed to change my GST registration, they seemed to have no idea what I was talking about and escalated my inquiry to a team somewhere else and will get back to me in an email.   PLEASE HELP has anyone dergistered GST ? Did ebay automatically update this information or did you have to change a setting somewhere. I have been through every section in my account and cannot find anything in relation to GST.  I'm an older lady returning to work after many years of being a stay at home mum and nanny. I'm just wanting to do something for myself and earn a little bit of money to update my car and visit my daughter in Canada.  How do we solve business problems on ebay without someone from Ebay to speak to?

Re: GST

If you're not collecting or remitting GST there is no need to have your ABN registered with eBay.

As you were advised, delete it.

You can probably add it back if your sales ever exceed the threshold.
