I recently registered to sell on Ebay but found it disturbing that when it was time to add my bank account details a box popped up asking for my Internet banking details ie my customer number and password. Obviously I did not enter that as it would open up to all my accounts and banking but chose to enter my bank account details manually.
Its still left a sour taste in my mouth plus that was nearly 2 weeks ago and I have not had the 2 cents put in from Ebay to verify my account. Has that happened to anyone else or was this pop up window a scam. It is making it very uneasy to proceed with selling on Ebay and there is no one I can contact to confirm. Any advise is greatly appreciated, Trish

eBay would never ask for your password, just the account number, so it was a scam.
Change your passwords immediately if you have given the password anywhere.

It was probably the instant account verification system, which instantly verifies the link to your specified account and is a recognized system world wide.
It sounds like you have opted to use the micro deposit verification system, again worldwide recognized account verification, but you are never going to be paid by ebay unless your account is correctly verified.

my customer number and password
When I registered for MP I was asked for the same information.
Once verified, I changed my password.
Simple. And something people should do frequently.
