Why do so many vendors (often Australian agencies for Chinese companies), whilst using Australia Post, refuse to ship to Post Office boxes and will only ship to residential addresses? Do they not understand that PO boxes are much more secure than residential mail boxes? I get annoyed at continually having to change my delivery address at check-out to residential, especially as the delivery always goes to my local post office anyway as my area has no residential mail delivery service!
If the seller refuses to send to a PO, then they should had PO Boxes on their excluded list (and this would be stated on the listing)
*IF* The seller is using a courier, they can't deliver to a PO Box
Some sellers wrongly believe 'only scammers have a PO Box' (rubbish of course, but go figure)
If a seller has choosen not to exclude shipping to a PO Box on the listing, then I don't see why you need to change your shipping address at checkout
Some people on the forum have suggested using the 'street address' of the post office as a way around it (never done it myself, and I myself have a PO Box due to the, ahem, nature of the area I live in
There are a few members here in more remote/less serviced areas so they may comment here on what has worked for them as far as mail delivery when buying on-line/on eBay goes
