Why do so many vendors (often Australian agencies for Chinese companies), whilst using Australia Post, refuse to ship to Post Office boxes and will only ship to residential addresses? Do they not understand that PO boxes are much more secure than residential mail boxes? I get annoyed at continually having to change my delivery address at check-out to residential, especially as the delivery always goes to my local post office anyway as my area has no residential mail delivery service!
I don't have an answer except that I support your concern.
I live in a remote area and have no post delivery service and can only collect my mail at the post office, using a PO box. It is very annoying to find that the seller does not ship to PO boxes only after I have committed to buy.
Payment can not be made until I put in some sort of address and then I have to try and collect it from the post office before it gets sent back.
Some sellers might be suspicious of PO boxes; well I sometimes wonder why they insist on a residential address in these days of identity theft.
This exclusion should be shown up front on postage details, then I have the option of not buying or choosing another seller.
