Received an item broken which was packed by third party.

Bought three figurines in one transaction from a seller. One figurine arrived broken in packaging. Seller told me the packing and posting was performed by another company. Said she made contact to ebay with no response as to how to handle this breakage and the cost. Seller then refunded me the cost to by the figurine but not the cost in postage which formed the majority of the cost. I was also asked to open a case with the resolution centre, but to date they seem only concerned with the buying price which I have already been refunded and now want me to close the case. Should I tell the seller it is their responsabilty to get a refund from the third party so as I might get a refund?

Thanks

If you were to open a case for Item not as described, you would be required to return the item at your cost via registered post.

In other words each member will be one postage cost out of pocket.

ebay and PayPal deem this a fair resolution in a dispute.

I would be thankful for the refund without needing to return the item. (cheaper for you, especially if they didn't send it registered or signature required)
