Why does postage through your global shipping program cost so much more than ordinary postage? There are no extra charges for deliveries in my country. Postage is postage and that's it.

There are several reasons for the high delivery charges.....for a start they are sent by FedEx couriers which is much more expensive than ordinary postage through a postal service.
Also, the parcels are repackaged by shipping service (Pitney Bowes) who also prepare the Customs documents instead of the seller having to do it.
The GSP is also fully tracked and insured whereas ordinary mail only provides these services if exta is paid for it.
