seller advertises as posts from Australia but is coming from china

so I order a small gold crown to use on a cake. I was very careful to choose a seller that was posting from AUstralia and the item was in Australia. delivery date was 25th May this is 2 weeks before I needed the item. But they even go as far as saying the item has been shipped on the 19th May - then nothing. Put in a report to Auspost only to get a phone call to say this is a 3rd party shipping company and while the paper work has been lodged the item hasn't . Now I get a new date on my invoice as due 10th June whicih is 4 days after I need it. Why can they use a 3rd party shipping dropbox I used ebay.au not ebay china

It won't help in this instance, but always check where the seller is registered. It's at the top of their feedback page, which it is prudent to read as it can also reveal others who have found the items not coming from the advertised location.
