I have just checked my Mastercard statement and I notice eBay purchases I am certain I did not make.

Bank noted but suggest contact eBay.  Contacting eBay near impossible.  If you want to query something you have to acknowledge your issue from there list.  There list doesn’t include being charged for a purchase you did not make.
