Did you open disputes in paypal or were the sellers refunding voluntarily?
If the sellers were refunding and they did not have enough paypal funds they may have had to send a payment from their bank account. This would take a couple of days to process.
It is the same as a buyer making a paypal payment funded by their bank account...the seller would have to wait for the funds to clear to their account.
