I have accepted an offer from a Purchaser in the USA who wishes to buy my item (I am located in Australia). They wish to send the item to their niece in QLD. They say they are getting an error when they try to make a payment and they want me to email them my paypal email (this has raised red flags).
I wouldn't think there would be an issue paying by paypal - correct?
Well, it is a very common scam (buyer overseas, wants to send it to a relative here but payment method is not working) has been done to death by scammers
Of course being common does not mean it is *this* time
It sounds like it
Have you completed sign up to Managed Payments and been given the go ahead to start selling, and read up on the changes since you last sold on eBay
If not, that was cause you all kinds of issues
Aside from this buyer being for real or another scammer
I never had any problem, but occasionally people have come here saying that they were unable to check out using PayPal, most recently on the 31st of October.
So it is possible, but apart from all other considerations raising red flags, giving the buyer your email address could get you in trouble with eBay.
There are many other payment options at checkout anyway.
This has to be a scam person. They are trying to purchase 2 items off me at the moment but never pay.
Is the item the jacket? Is it the only item you sold recently?
Did other payments go through? It could indeed have to do with Managed Payments if you are not a regular seller and have not registered.
