invoiced for unused postage label

I hadn't used ebay to sell anything for years.

I recently sold an item, and I got lost in the current site layout trying to find the buyer's mailing address. I inadvertantly selected ebay's automated postage label system (which I never use) and I thought I'd cancelled that. I sent the item via Australia post filling out and paying for my own shipping at the post office. I never used any ebay shipping label. Now I've been invoiced by ebay for a shipping label which I cancelled. Ebay - please refund my funds!

You have 5 days from the time of creating a label to cancel it, however you will not receive a refund/credit until  Australia Post confirms that the label has not been used, which normally takes 25 business days minimum.    Given the current situation with postage backlogs it is likely that the 25 day period is now significantly longer.

It takes several weeks for the label to be refunded.....they have to wait to see that it has not been used.  You should see the refund on your  next  invoice if you cancelled it correctly.
