Buyer wants a return for item that didn't fit

Hello, a buyer has sent through a return process for a jacket that did not fit her.

I have  'no returns' on my listings but the buyer has put 'doesn't match description or photos' as the reason for return. The jacket was listed as a Size M and the buyer claims it is smaller. As the buyer has put through a return what do I do now? I have used the 'message the buyer' and explained that the listing was correct but how do I proceed now? thanks in advance!

Aside from just saying it was an "M" did you put in measurements of the jacket in the photos and/or the description ?

I would hazard a guess and say the buyer wanted the jacket for an event, the event has now happened, so therefore there is no longer a need for the jacket. You'd be surprised how many people out there will only wear a garment once. God forbid they wear it a second time. Oh the horror! A lot of buyers will buy something for an event, have no further use for it, so claim it's not as described to get a refund.

I would do as already suggested and accept the return on the condition the buyer pays for the postage. If you don't, they are just as likely to damage it so you have no choice but to refund (it happens.....a lot). Ebay will always side with the buyer in these instances. At least if you can get the jacket back, you can resell it.

As the buyer has lodged a return for not as described you are responsible for the return postage and will have to refund the original postage as well.

you could try using eBay’s contact me page and explain the situation. Do this before you accept the return but most likely they will side with the buyer
