A buyer bought an item from me that he wanted to return because he said he ordered it by mistake. I messaged him through eBay that I had done the same thing and that the way out of it was for him to put it up for sale himself. I had bought it on the "no returns" condition and had sold it the same way. He negatively reviewed me saying I hadn't even apologised. This issue is more than 90 days old so eBay don't seem to have a mechanism for me to challenge it. I can't find a way to talk to ebay about this even though they listed the review without giving me a chance to respond to it, except for my message to the buyer.
It probably is too late to ask for the neg to be removed, it will however drop off your feedback rating after 12 months.
Perhaps in the future offer a refund just on the item price (not initial postage) after they have returned the item to you at their expense, then you could resell it as your are already a seller, whereas the buyer may not be a seller already.
