I have sold a fair bit on eBay Aust, but have just listed something for Worldwide sale. I'd be grateful if someone could tell me how I check that it is being seen internationally.

You could search the item and first will be all local items then scroll to the end of local searches, there International items will show.
Or try searching on ebay.com or ebay.co.uk
Keep in mind it can take up to 24 hours for a newly listed item to show up in searches.
