I closed an unpaid item dipute yesterday and received email advising of a real tragedy in the family. How do I help this biuey?

I hope somebody can help me as I'm sitting here really upset & can't go to bed as I don' feel like sleeping.

A long time buyer with good feedback bought an item from me about 11/72012 & sent email to advise payment would be made by Bank acoount.

I waited some time, as I was not well myself, and sent a couple of emails reminding of payment but received no reply.

I opened an Unpaid Item Dispute 11/8 and after no response, closed it yesterday, 16/8.  Last night (16/8) received an email from buyer apologising for delay & advising there had been a murder in the family, and would now pay.  I then received another email straight after as buyer had received notification of unpaid item dispute against them.

I do not want to cause this buyer any problems, but on reading eBay's policies, it seems only buyers can as for strikes to be removed - have I intepreted this correctly?

I feel so bad, as my instincts told me there was some problem, but because of no contact (couldn't find a phone no.in white pages & didn't think to contact eBay for contact details) thought it best to just end the dispute.

I believe this eBayer, as the items bought would not be purchased unless wanted.

Am I able to contact eBay and ask for strie to be removed?
