Is it allowable to have 2 stores?

Obviously I have to consider the fees, but ideally I would like to separate different kinds of items.

yes, but you will need 2 different ebay IDs one for each Store.  you can have both linked to one paypal account if you so wish.

you can have as many ebay IDs as you like, providing each one has its own separate email address. [hotmail or gmail will do]
