Lesson Learnt

Well I've just learnt the hard way.

I had a buyer who paid via Paypal. I printed the postage label via C&S with the option to "pay later at the post office". I had to go to the city the next day unexpectedly so thought I would personally deliver the parcel. It was slightly out of my way but thought hey, it's quicker than posting it, meaning the buyer will get the item promptly.

I made sure the address was correct.

The buyer, obviously knows how things work, and is claiming she has not received the parcel via Australia Post and that she has checked the tracking and nothing is showing, of course as I delivered it, there will be no tracking.  Smells to me like some fraud going on here. There is no way the parcel could have been stolen, the letter box is in the wall of the building and you cannot put a hand through the slot. It is her address, it's a gallery with her name on it.

I can see she will raise a dispute for "item not received" so will end up getting her money back and keeping the item.

I have written to her describing the building, the letterbox, the surrounding buildings, and have asked her to confirm (what I already know is correct) her address. I have said that I will head back to the address and ask for the parcel back if she says this is not her address (in case I have "accidentally" delivered to the wrong building, although I know it was correct) and will have the police involved on the grounds of theft,  if the "resident" refuses to return the item. She doesn't know that I know it is her gallery, I'm just trying to bait her to see if she will come clean.

Rant over!

**bleep** fraudsters.
