Hi guys
Just hoping I can get some ammuniation on what to say to Australia Post who are refusing compensation against a lost express post package. I know they try to avoid compo at all costs but I want to try. Are there any parts of the ACCC I can refer to which may suggest a breach of contract?
Just a summary:
- Posted package via Express Post which showed delivered the next day .
- 1 Week later customer emails me on where her order is. I show her the tracking and she informs me that everyone was at work at that time and no one was home. Is it a regular customer who I have never had problems with and 100% trustworthy.
- I tell Aus Post who say it may have been safe dropped and ask the owners to check around property.
- I respond with saying I use DO NOT SAFE DROP labels on all packaging
- Aus Post responds saying "Unfortunately, our efforts to locate the missing article have not been successful. It is the aim of Australia Post to provide a secure and reliable mail service and complaints, such as yours, are of concern. We have performed a detailed search at the Mail Redistribution Centre for the missing article; however, we were unfortunately unable to locate any matches."
Most people will say just drop it, or I should have used registered Post which I call BS on. If Aus Post can not provide a service which you have paid for, they should not be offering it in the first place.
