Sold item. how to notify Ebay of sale & cancel ad.

I have just sold an item on Ebay.  The item was picked up and paid for.  How do I notify Ebay the item has sold and arrange to have the advertisement for it cancelled?

If you sold an item (your listings indicate this is not the case) then your buyer would would have clicked on Buy It Now then contacted you for you address, inspected & paid...which you have stated they have done so.

There would then be no need to "notify" eBay.

How did the buyer obtain your address without following this process?

Perhaps you should contact the buyer & request that they click on Buy It Now,

I've just realised my item was actually sold through the ad that was also on Gumtree, so I just need to delete the ad from Ebay. How do I do that?

Tick the box next to the item on your selling page, then choose "end" at the top.

Without knowing which format of selling page you use, I can't be more specific.
