Since when has eBay been calculating their final value fee including a sellers postage/ handling fee

Hello,

May I ask... how long has eBay been calculating their 'Final Value Fee' on including a sellers postage & handling fee & how is that fair?

I charge $11.00 for a 500g Satchel using eBay Flat Rate Australia Post + signature on delivery service. Aus Post charge $10.10 for the postage inclusive of $2.95 for signature on delivery. That leaves me with 90c. Out of that 90c I purchase my satchels, packaging & include a courtesy note & a small treat to thank my buyers for their business. Yet silly me had only just noticed that eBay charge me an extra $1.09 for 'Final Value Fee on Shipping on top of the cut they already calculate from my item.

I realise that fees are involved, inflation etc. & that's life but eBay is getting just a little greedy for my liking. How can the average Joe afford these price hicks over the years. I'm a small private seller cleaning out clutter but am honestly thinking about pulling the eBay plug & searching for other means to sell my items. Does anyone have any suggestions. Feeling jipped big ttime, lol! 😞

Kind regards,

#Forever paying fees!

They've been charging sellers in the US a fee on shipping/postage for several years now. It all stems from sellers who were circumventing fees by listing items for 99 cents with $200 postage so that their fees were based on the 99 cent item and not the $200.99 that they were actually paid (if som one was stupid enough to buy from a seller who listed that way). Thanks to these nitwits (which were not very many), all sellers get punished.
