blocking/deleting bids

I have a caravan listed on auction and have noted that I won't except bids from bidders with less than 10 positive feedback due to past problems with not getting paid. However there has been bidders with less than 10 positive feedback still making bids. and as I was unsure of the bidder as they have been with ebay for years yet only 5 feedback, so I blocked them from making further bids. my question is how do I stop a fake bidder from making a fake bid at the last moment with possibly no intention of paying?

possibly just out of spite for writing the note. I can't remove the note but what are my options if it does happen, can I delete the bid, can I sell to the next highest bidder? what should I have done ? thanks Mark

If you selected to block bidders with less than 10 FB it would also have those who are not verified attached to that option,  this being the case, if the bidder has 10 or less FB and his bid has registered, it means he has gone through verification by phone and or had his bank details verified, so less chance of time wasters.

From my experience (selling a boat and a couple of cars) all those buyers were guys, all less than 10 FB, and absolutely no problem,  I assumed men buy less on ebay or moreso those into boats and vehicles rarely purchase multiple cars etc,   on the other side, my son has a FB of 7 over 4 years, has bought two motorbikes, and a trailer, these are 3 big priced sales that the sellers would have missed if they had blocked him from buying.

On the other hand, my last non paying bidder had a positive FB of 1142. so go figure 😐
