how can an item can show a bid and then no bid, I did not think it possible to take a bid off once it was entered, thanks joy.

any bid can be retracted by the bidder, or cancelled by the seller, either way is allowed by ebay ,   up until 12Hours before the end of the auction.  then they cannot be retracted by the bidder.

if you click on the bid history you will see the retraction and the reason given (but ebay only allow about 4 choices of ''reasons'' so sometimes they are not quite honest about the reason).

better a retracted bid before the end of auction than a  buyer who does not pay after winning.
