how to know what is Insert charge?

I just lised one small item, ebay system said " free" insertion. Immeadiatly tried another similar itme, got insert fee $2.00 ( two dollars). Why the difference ? how can I find out what I am paying ( extra) for ?

You could have fitted that in the item title line.

Putting things in the sub title line is of no benefit as it does not show up when buyers enter words into the search bar.

Use all the characters you can in the item title line that buyers might be using to search for an item by.
