listing fees

why is it every time i try to list any item (when your supposed to have 40 free listings a month) am I being charged $1 per listing? Im not listing in extra categories or the like, I dont get it

can anyone shed any light on this?

How long since you last sold on ebay,  somehow I think you are going to be in for a shock.

If you are signed up and verified for Managed Payments (which you have to be to sell now) you get 250,000 free listings. You will find that you are not charged for listings, unless you have extras like "promoted listings" etc, and the number of "free listings" won't change.
