refund to payment method - card no longer exits

I normally pay for items with paypal. I bought an item that hasn't arrived after two months and paid for it with credit card without realising - this was at the time when ebay changed what method you could pay by.  Very annoying as I prefer to pay with paypal.  I quickly changed it back to paypal.  Anyway, I have just opened a did not receive case and would like the item refunded.  The credit card used at the time has been cancelled.  Can I change where the refund goes?  Can it go to my paypal account instead?

I do not know of any way that YOU can change where the refund goes but If you contact paypal they can be very helpful in cases like this.

I read somewhere that it may be possible to ring them now so I would give it a try....much easier than messaging them.
