2nd lot of 100 free listings

my brother started selling a month or two ago and last week listed 100 items for free. he got an email again for this weekend for another 100 free listings.

nice way to entice new sellers.

until I pointed out he has a 100 max listing threshold.

he then countered that he had listed them with a 7 day sale so can relist the ones that don't sell free.

Yeah, I got the email too. I didn't read much about it but I assume it's just over the 48 hour weekend period. Good going if you can list 100 new items in 48 hours.

Is he a casual seller?  then he will get 40 free listings per month,  if he was able to list 100 for free last month it would have been one of the promotions going at the time,  being a new seller he probably has limits on his account, eg can list 100 items but only 40 will be free to list. any additional listings will be charged to his account.

I also received an email last week offering 100 free listings. I only managed to list 89. Yesterday I received another email offering 100 free listings this weekend so, if nothing else, I'll be able to list the additional 11 items

Did you relist any items during the last 100 free listing promotion? If so, did the extra 60-70 free listings apply to the items you relisted? Thanks. 🙂

he listed 100 last week - sold about 20, which he has listed 20 more out of his 40 free listings,  with auctions finishing all weekend. so from Sunday arvo he is planning on listing as many out of the 100 free he is allowed since as a new seller he can only list up to 100 at a time, capped.

I have never in the 4 years of selling been offered any free listings. No offence but I cant believe ebay gives new sellers 100 free listings & absolutely nothing to the regular sellers.

It is true, difficult to understand why some and not all, but it does happen, and recently many sellers, new, casual and seasoned sellers were offered 100 free listings, but from what I gathered the offer was not made to TRS/power sellers.  (even though there was one post where a PS did get the offer,) and obviously re this thread, some were offered the option again this month.

Check the new terms and offers, with the reduction of basic stores to $19.95 and free listings and reduced fees now available for store owners, it may be cost effective for you to consider those options,   or register a second ID and take advantage of 40 free listings per month.

I have a casual selling ID, I was given this offer last week and again this week (I havent listed anything).

I have had the ID since 2004 and made about 1,500 transactions overall, just nothing much in the last year.

I seem to get every ''free'' offer going on that ID !!

I got one on my store ID offering me a discount on the FVF for items in a certain category if listed at a certain time. 😮

Pity I didn't have anything more to list in that category at the time.
