Why can't ebay increase the amount to 250 or so for sellers without a store? Especially now that the other promos are pretty much gone.
ebay will still be making money with the fvf and small sellers can at least list a decent amount of items without having to open a store.

@samsseconds wrote:i think we should bring back free listing for .99 cent lists again. 40 free listings is great but there are to many variables for charge and non charge, having a store doesnt help with discounts when selling certain items and catogories.
ie i am currently selling used computer parts to try and raise capital to put back into new stock, but listing anything over 40 per month is not viable, as the listing price is more than my current start price, if they were collectables it would be ok to get a store as that would allow many free listings.
i am trying to build a customer base, i believe 99 cent list are a good structure for building trust and repeat followers however there is not really the support to grow like there was before.
Lets make ebay great again ๐ bring back bargains.
I am curious, when were 99c items free to list?I am asking as it is a long time since I was a regular seller and back in the day, we used to pay for each and every listing. 99c & under was cheaper but it still wasn't free. It could well have been in recent times though, I don't know.
I realise times have changed and ebay gets a lot of its money now by charging higher fees upon sale, plus there are paypal fees and fees on postage costs.
But all the same, I tend to think 40 free listings is pretty fair. It should take care of the little seller, the person selling a few odds and ends from home.
For those who are wanting to list more than that, they need to consider if they are actually running a small business OR the other thing to consider, is how their items are moving. If they have something that is doing the rounds week after week without a nibble, maybe paying a small fee will make those sellers rethink those items. I'm not saying they shouldn't be able to be listed, just that there probably has to be a limit to how many ads ebay allows for free listing.

Its free to list on Gumtree which eBay owns and your social media accounts if you wish. Although auctioning on social media is becoming a trend on instagram
