$6.00 SWIFT Payment Fee on Bank deposit

I just had a buyer deposit to my bank account

He used “swift” I think this is a wire transfer, my bank charged me a $6.00 SWIFT Payment Fee.Smiley Sad I did some research online and there were indications these sift payment can be reversed in the first 24hrs will have to ring the bank tomorrow

Has anyone had experience with this?

I believe it has something to do with bank transfers from overseas.

I have no idea whether it can be reversed but it is a bit rough that you have to pay a large fee to get your money....I hope it is a large enough amount to make it worth the fee.

The up-side is that with a bank deposit there will be no possibly fraudulent INR claims. 😉

Swift codes are required for international bank transfers. The person sending the money pays their bank a fee and the recipient's bank charges their customer a fee also.

The money is sent electronically from the senders bank to the head office of the recipients bank account and from there sent electronically to the recipients bank account.

Two different banks involved each one takes a fee (some receiving banks don't charge a fee)

I have a bank ac overseas and tfr to Aust one..pay both the fees.

For eBay listings best to put. - only accept paypal from overseas buyers. (Assuming here the buyer is from another country)
