I posted my first item for sale on eBay & on 8/9/25 eBay notified me it had sold with a link to contact the buyer.

Despite a few messages, the buyer has not responded. I assumed that the sale had fallen through.

Today I got an email from eBay to say my payment had been sent to my account. The buyer is still not responding to messages.

What do I do?

Local pickup I don't think gives you the buyers address but possibly the suburb or state. Are they local to you to be able to collect.

If not it may explain no communication if they thought it would be posted and don't check their emails although unlikely these days.

You advertised as pick up only, cash preferred.

No response to your messages ?

Payment weeks later ? You should have cancelled earlier , for non payment.

Unless your buyer is going to pick up with a QR code , I recommend you cancel the transaction using the reason

'problem with buyer's address'

"Payment sent to my account"

Is the payment showing in your seller hub ?

For the future, are you registered to sell and signed up for managed payments ?

DO NOT offer to post to some random address.

The buyer can file an item not received dispute and you'll lose the item and your money.
