Beware of ebay member <Removed>

He successfully won an auction for a antique watch that i had on ebay. I calculated the postage to be $10.00. Which included an Australia post padded bag plus some bubble wrap. [plus signature delivery ]

His response was that the postage should have been ....wait for it $5.00??

And oh yes. I am in Western Australia and he is over on the opposite side of the country. [Queensland or NSW]

People like <Removed> should not be allowed on ebay.

The comms bit sucks, infact on the whole I think the star rating is ridiculous, ESPECIALLY postage time considering once it is is in AP's hands the seller has no control, but them's the breaks here on eBay.

If the $$ made it possible I would up the start price and try Free post, that will take care of some stars at least, as to the communication star I think no communication is usually awarded a guaranteed 5, but like I said, all the changes I am out of touch with.

See above post - most likely postage times - again eBays fault as they give ETA's that are so unreliable it isn't worth even reading them.

Mmm, ok, i still dont see how you mark low dsr on free postage, mine always comes up as five stars, no mater handle time, or how long it gets to me, also another note, normaly when writing in the text box im doing it from mobile view, not as many options as full view, so if i copy and paste from now on i really should key in a bit more info...

Exactly.

And as you say, "estimates" are unreliable.

I purchased some batteries (not on ebay) from SA, Country NSW (Mudgee) and Sydney. The SA one took the expected 2 days, the others, well, you have to wonder about AP. Yet batteries from Perth (on ebay), within 4 days normal post, no air.

Agree re the star rating.

I honestly don't think you can win with some people. Anyway, I look at what people say, stars are just stars,

can be interpreted anyway you like.

If it is very flat, and is under 2cm thick in total when you have packed it, it can go for a large letter.  You've obviously been charged parcel rates.  Sometimes just using a slightly bigger bag (and folding less) makes things thin enough to go for letter rates.

That's a tough question.

We CAN charge a handling fee - we have the option to do that.

BUT

It tends to reflect badly on DSR for postage costs...... so you're better off building it into the price of the ITEM rather than postage.
