Anyone know if/not the red street boxes will be cleared today 31st Dec. New Years Eve?
How about tomorrow NY day?

It is posties' holiday - no point in giving them a holiday if they have to clear the mail boxes.

Obviously not today as public holiday. Friday is an Australia Post Public Holiday ( yes their own) which they have each year around christmas so whilst franchise PO's should be open the AP owned ones may not be and mail will be going nowhere and there will be no deliveries. HNY

We are Caboolture so dunno if/not that is country/rural.
I've been scouring the AP web site but can't find anything about this at all.

Australia Post Website states that they are closed until Monday 5th January except for selected Post Offices which will open for limited hours on Saturday.
Friday is a nominated AP holiday.
There will be no Parcel sorting or delivery during this period.
And Yes - The red boxes should have been emptied today at whatever time your red box says - but it will go to the Sorting Centre and stay there until Monday.
Just spent half an hour letting my customers know of the delay.

Mine is definitely open on both Friday and Saturday so must be one of the select ones. I'm pretty sure it's a privately owned PO as opposed to the main one on the main street which keeps regular AP times. Mine has extended trading hours (7am - 5.55pm Mon-Fri and 7am - 11.55am Sat).
I'm certainly not expecting anything to go anywhere on Friday, but if I wasn't working myself, I know I can still post stuff and get a tracking number to say it's been posted inside the handling time.
